Atom Studio year in review

A round up of Atom Studio in 2021.

Despite the challenges, it's been an exciting year for the Atom Studio team.

Starting the year in another lockdown was not what any of us really wanted, despite the clear need. As difficult as it was, by this point we were all well versed in the lockdown routine, and companies were more used to making it work as best they could for their businesses. Despite this, we’ve been fortunate to keep our momentum and continue to grow our client list, and we’ve had the opportunity to work on fantastic projects throughout the year. So, without further ado, let’s look at what Atom Studio has been up to this year.

Snapshot of some of our 2021 animation projects.

Earth & Plastic: A Love Story.

This short, animated film explores the impact our relationship with plastic has had on the planet. Characters Earth and Plastic were created so the audience would better understand the highs and lows of this nuanced relationship. Watch the full video here.

Formula 2.

Working on the 2021 titles was an honour, as we loved working on the previous year’s. The detailed sequence focused on the tension of waiting for drivers to begin a race. Then, as they begin, we home in on different aspects of the engine in a series of macro shots. We’ve also worked with F1 for a number of other projects, including a promo for broadcast played after the intro sequence for the final race in this year’s Grand Prix, reaching millions of viewers internationally. Kensa.

South West-based Kensa approached Atom to create a 3D animation as part of their campaign for COP 26. We were thrilled to work with the Kensa team again, especially given the subject matter – highlighting the massive benefits of a low carbon integrated energy system and how heat pumps are crucial to our fight against the climate crisis. Porsche Supercup.

This was definitely a project that got the Atom team excited. Not only did we get to work with the talented creative team at Formula 1 again but we also got to work with one of the most iconic cars – the Porsche 911. We wanted to highlight the rich history of the Porsche Supercup whilst also revealing the new look for the car in 2021. Watch the full video here.

Pension Insurance Corporation.

Who said pensions are boring? What could have been a rather dry subject was turned into an engaging, fun and informative animation all about pension scheme transfers. Watch the full video here.

Even more exciting projects.

There were so many other projects we haven’t mentioned yet, like the work we did with Formula 1 for the launch of their new 2022 car or the short film we created about the legendary Kimi Räikkönen. The year ended with a phoenomonal project for Formula 1 where we created a 3D animation that was shown just before the final race to over 80 million. Keep an eye out for these projects as we’ll be launching them on the site very soon.

What’s changed for Atom Studio?

As you can see, we’ve worked with some incredible clients. And we’ve also been able to work with brilliant freelancers, both old and new to us. Our network is growing, and we’re really pleased that each contact we make is so valuable to us.

And that’s not all. Our rebranded website went live, and our blog launched – both in July 2021. We simplified all areas of the website to better showcase our portfolio and show you exactly what we’re all about and working on.

Last but certainly not least, our very own Carla has won her first award! Please join me in congratulating her on this fantastic milestone. We’ll share more details on this very soon.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

So, for now, it’s time for us to take a short festive break to recharge and reflect on the year. And we look forward to what we hope will be another awesome year for Atom Studio.

From all of us here, have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!
